A gratitude heart despite bad experiences

Used to be angry and bitter with whom I had bad experiences with, I learnt to grow from there and be thankful for all those bad experiences which made me a stronger and mature person. There's a saying, "Without the tough experiences, I will never be able to feel and be compassionate for another person" which I felt was so true. I am thankful that God has His wonderful plan, a plan that is meant for good, to give me a future and a hope. Heart is just so thankful to God that after all the bad experiences, he has blessed me with a wonderful fiance and soon to be my husband, Victor. :D

A love journey that is going to last with His Grace

3 Nov 2010 was one of the dates I wouldn't forget. It was an evening full of romance, surprise, joy and happiness. The start for a new beginning for Victor and myself.

The story of his proposal begins:

He gave a phone call to Ms Ada(my principal) and asked if he could propose to me in school with my friends and family members. Ms Ada was so excited and said this will mark the beginning of many proposals to come. Victor met up with Ms Leng Na and Belle on 1 Nov 2010 to plan the setup. On that evening, I was still in office when Ms Leng Na "shoo" me off to my night class as Vic and Gabe were waiting outside my school (I know nothing).

On the actual day:

I was asked to evacuate my whole class to Michelle's class, reason being, "Uncle Bala is going to do some drilling in your class at 4.30pm, so you have to move your whole class to Jemina Puddle Duck", Ms Leng Na. I followed her instructions not knowing that the proposal will take place near my class. I was supposed to be at the playground with the kiddos at 4.45pm but Jiang Qi, my partner asked me to finish up the things to be done for my noticeboard in Michelle's class. I said "ok"!

Ms Leng Na then came in shortly to comment on my portfolio. I was "kan chiong" coz she gave some comments for me to improve on.

At 5.30pm, I wanted to visit the toilet and was told to use a specific toilet. I was like~~ (what's going on today??) But didn't pay much attention to that coz I was beginning to be stress up over my portfolios.

At 5.50pm, I wanted to go back to class to take my hp coz Victor said he will be coming to pick me from my school but was held back by Michelle and the reason being, "Ms Jessica is still in the toilet, I cannot handle the kids by myself". I said no problem and waited for Ms Jessica to come back.

At 6pm, Michelle said, "Ms Leng Na just give me a call and she wants to see you immediately at fast track room to discuss with you about your portfolio". I was like "siao liao this time"! Very stressed me slowly dragged myself to the fast track room and along the way, some teachers smiled at me and said Ms Leng Na wants to see me. At the back of my mind I was thinking "You guys must be laughing at my portfolios, sighhhhh~~~"!

While walking up the staircase, I saw candles that were lighted and roses that were evenly spread, but I couldnt care less coz my mind was filled with "PORTFOLIOS"(Ms Leng Na, if you happened to be at my blog, I was really stressful ok!!!! hahahaha)!

The moment I opened the door, I was SHOCKED! Victor was holding on to the roses and the many flashes from the camera started to flash at me.

I was like....... That's it! It is "D" day~ Happy, pleasantly surprise, overjoyed... You name it, I am over the air.

Updates about my life

"Fun at Work"

Been very happy and looking forward for everyday's work. Coz to me is not just work, but is fun with the kiddos. However, maybe my immune systemai is not that strong, I often am sick due to sore throat and recently had tonsilitis. It was a painful experience for me coz i cannot even swallow my own saliva and had high fever for many days. Was admitted to hospital to be put on a drip and antibotic. 3 days later I recovered and was given 9 days hospitalisation leave. Am contemplating to work till Dec' coz my family is worried about my health condition. Everyday been feeding myself with pi pa gao, honey and vitamin C to keep me away from becoming sick.

I love my kiddos coz of their innocence, purity and simple heart. They are not complicated and are fun to be with. They have the most adorable smile and it melts my heart. It trains my patience also coz I have to repeat over a hundred times to behave themselves and etc.. Haha..

"My Family"

I am probably the most blessed person here on earth to have such a wonderful family. I love my mummy, daddy, brother and sister. I can talk to my mummy about everything and anything under the sun. Just yesterday night we chatted till 2 am about my future, family, marriage, relationship and work. Through her, I learnt wisdom. How to become wiser when making certain and important decisions in life. She is also a great listener and giving great counsel to my circumstances. Thou daddy is often quiet, he expresses his love towards us through actions. His actions is definitely louder than words. He fetches me to work whenever he could and picks me up from my night classes every night. He is such a great daddy!! I love him.

First Day in Patschoolhouse

Vic asked me to blog on my first experience working with children so that next time when I am weary, at least I can have this blog to turn to, remembering the first experience.

One sentence/phase to describe my first experience working in Patschoolhouse: "Holistic experience"! Friendly and sincere staff, great environment with lots of plain water(for some closer friends who know me) and finally adorable and lovely children. What more can I ask for?

I love the children, but not their behaviour at times. I've learnt that if I dont like them behaving in a certain manner for example, snatching, I will tell them, "Brendon, I dont like you snatching the ball from Jolene. Can you please return back and ask her politely if you can borrow the ball from her". When you have to repeat this sentence every now and then....... is really no joke, hahahaha.... Thus, the most important character I have to develop is "PATIENCE".
Believing in time to come, I will develop my mind and heart to be like what the WOG says, LONGSUFFERING.

I prayed this prayer before entering into Patschoolhouse this morning, saying,
"Dear God, please give me wisdom to guide the children to become who you want them to be"!
And this prayer will follow me throughout the days, months and years in Patschoolhouse.

4 big cups of herbal tea and litres of water

Vic has a bad sore throat and fever since yesterday night but insisted on wanting to play with Marcus on a Saturday morning. He arrived my house at 10am but was in a bad shape. I then gave a sms to Yvonne Jiu Mu saying we couldnt make it as Vic wasnt well. She was so sweet to send her regards hours later to see if Vic was well.
I made for him 2*Pi Pa Gao Drink, 2*Herbal Tea and tonnes(Litres) of water. He probably drank up to 5 litres of water today.
I am praying hard that he will get well soon.

I've got my dream job!

I love kids, especially toddlers. Been given an opportunity to teach in Patschoolhouse Halifax starting on Monday. I was elated when Miss Ada(principal) told me that I have been selected to be their teaching staff to the 3 years old. All thanks to Angie(teacher from Patschool Sgoon) that I am able to go for the interview! A big THANK YOU to you!! I will be transferred to Patschool Serangoon in year 2011, January. Can't wait to work together with Angie!

During the interview, I was told to tell a story to the 3 years old. Thank God for His Grace, the children were all so responsive and happy to hear the story which I thought I could have done it better. I am so thankful for the benefits as a teaching staff which was doubled and triple more than what I could ever ask or imagine!

Truly, what is ahead of me is "Joy, Laughter, Compassion, Positive Reinforce Challenges, Grace and greatest of all LOVE"!

My motto in the next phase of life(work): "Happy Children, Happy Teacher"!

First of all to start with, I am proud to present to you Mr and Mrs.... hahahahaha.. Not so soon la huh..

I am overjoyed to receive this awesome gift from God. The journey of me having a nice impression about him was when we started the project on "Eager Beaver Family Carnival Day". From planning to executing, he never fails to be patient towards things which were stressful and the last min stuff. I was impressed! I thought to myself, what a great event with him around.

From good impression to developing feelings for him, I told myself to pray and if he is meant to be, he is meant to be.. Once I identify that my feelings and emotions are starting to go wild, I told myself not to think anymore because I dont want to hold high expectation.

Didnt did I know that he felt the same towards me. I was so so so so so so pleasantly shocked when he approached me after the Easter Service. He said he wanted to share some stuff with me and I thought it was serious. But when he told me how he feels toward me, I was speechless. I thought to myself, "Oh dear.. I havent got myself prepared".

We talked and talked, ended up in airport. Led by the Holy Spirit, we came to the spot where our cg members were. Woah! We chatted with them for awhile then left for late dinner.

We decided to have dinner at T3. I kinda settled down in my heart and then we went on together. Started to sms to Cheryl and Nathanael coz they are the close buddies in our company. Next I send out email to one of my friend then down to me sending sms to Liang Liang, Karen Chia and Shu Jun, gave a phone call to Zhanwei, email to Dev and sms to Meiyi. Haha.. These are the closest among all friends in my life! :)

To me, it is really a gift from God. I prayed and God answered my prayer. :)
